I'd lose my gourd if he came up to me like that
what a random person lmao
Cool voice
Like my girl isn’t a music fan. She only listens to a lot of radio hits. And artists she likes she has like 3 or 4 songs she will save off their album. She doesn’t refer to herself as a music fan because she’s not really into like that
Then we just don’t agree on what a fan is
If I like something I consider myself a fan of it. I might not be as big of a fan as the next guy, but I still consider myself a fan

Exactly, just all clones. and btw you were right about the "iPhone" monopoly, I remember you explained this in another thread about how that sort of started tribalism in our society. you were right
it’s funny that i typed that on an iPhone XS ™️ but i didn’t even have an iphone until 3 years ago and i felt the tribalism so bad
it’s funny that i typed that on an iPhone XS ™️ but i didn’t even have an iphone until 3 years ago and i felt the tribalism so bad
I mean there's that Tribalism mentality even WITHIN the iPhone community, like my brother constantly complained about how he was roasted for having an older iPhone
Then you just proved my point lol?
We never disagreed. The difference is and correct me if I’m wrong, you would feel annoyed if Old Town Road played while you were out.
I wouldn’t because just cause I may listen to a large variety of music, I’m not gonna s*** on someone or call them a casual for listening to what they like. If they REFUSE to listen to anything new, then yeah, different story.
Do you??? You’re gatekeeping what being a fan means.
Like I said, if you watch your fav sports team when they play but you don’t play fantasy sports and aren’t studying advanced stats and all that s***.... you’re still a god damn fan.
Bruh you're a casual, end of discussion.
If you only listen to the same 5 songs over and over until you are tired of them, then DELETE them and then repeat this algorithm over and over chasing "hype" then you are a casual.
You don't care about the artists or music, you just simply want to listen to what is trendy.
and that's fine, however you aren't a serious music "fan" then. That's all you need to accept lol.
Like I can't say I'm a "fan of Drake" but only like 3 songs of him. You can say you like some of their music, but you aren't truly a fan of that artist lol???
Do you not get this

Fair. But when discussing music artists you can’t just like their hits and say your a fan of them tbh. Like I love a lot of 80s rap artists songs but I don’t consider myself a fan of them at all. I just enjoy their songs. I would be weird if I’m in a convo with fans of them and I’m just naming off 4-5 hit songs while they’re going over albums and discography and performances and their impact/influence
I'd lose my gourd if he came up to me like that

Lowkey the mid-late 80's was the true peak of all music.
There was SO much diversity at that time, truly the best era honestly.

Who are you to tell someone what they are or aren’t a fan of?
You don’t have to know a rappers d*** size and who they’re dating to be a fan of them.
The average person isn’t f***in doing deep dives into music artists. They aren’t what Spotify shows them and that’s it. They’re still a fan.

Ariel pink keeps it alive for sure
is this not pleasant to see as well? Like I'm no ed sheeran fan but man there's something so heartwarming lmao

60's is my fav but 70's was peak because of the variety.
(funk, metal, punk, new wave, prog, disco, etc.)

Sure if I only liked 1 single song by an artist, I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of that artist, just a fan of that song.
But you don’t have to have heard every song an artist has ever released to be a fan of.
Like maybe I only ever heard Views, Scorpion and NWTS..... and I liked them all.... I would still consider myself a Drake fan even if I haven’t heard Take Care or Thank Me Later or So Far Gone
