I tried to in the past with my roommate who’s a Drake stan. Specifically not really “deep cuts” but more like his older material like pre-NWTS era and he wasn’t interested in it

I remember dealing with a White girl 7 years ago who told me she hated Kanye because he's an A-Hole.

So, I played some Ye songs in the background without telling her who it was by. When I saw her vibing to it, I just said "This songs dope, right? You know who it's by?"

When I told her Kanye, she couldn't believe it and became a fan.

i'll play deep cuts for friends who mutually like the artist/if they're curious to hear more from an artist. but i would never be a d*** about it.

Beautiful. This is the type of thing I love to see. I did the same thing with my girl who only knew "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. When I introduced her to Emotion it blew her mind and she's been a stan since. She went from thinking she was a one hit wonder to a Pop genius in a matter of minutes.

It’s no reason to try. They really aren’t into music like that to begin with. But if they ask me I’ll put them on and offer them other artist they might enjoy

The way people consume music is different from person to person. Not everybody listens to deep cuts and I think it's OK. Everybody don't nerd out over music.
