OSCAR WINNERYup Tarantino is a great example. Also the Safdies, like Good Time they sat down wit Pat and fleshed out his character Connie together. With uncut gems they had Howies entire life plotted out, even had a story written about him doing business with Puffy lol
But yeah I have no doubt Tár was completely fleshed out too. All the awards she won the director prolly knows exactly when she won em and how she celebrated the win after.

I got huge Kubrick vibes from the way Todd Field underscores the disconnect between Tar's meditated life (usual signifiers of celebrity status) and her actual life which he shoots using lots of vast, empty, cold, ethereal, symmetrical spaces. It's all very heightened and unreal, like something from a horror film.

he used a similar duel camera tech in lux aeterna (which did give me a headache) to vortex…it’s applied way better in the latter
