the weird obsession with being against WAP (and similar songs from woman rappers) is annoying lmao. let them have fun and make music people wanna hear. who gives a s***. if you don't like it don't listen
gif isn't playing but i already know
Lmaoo wasn’t a gif
You don't know Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. one of the best 2000s hits
And there's all his classic features for other artists like Outkast
Yeah, I think I heard it. But I forgot about him.
Last time I heard of him was My Life I think, by Slaughterhouse
Cee Lo a 5’7 manlet
He’s just secretly pushing this to side with his brethren Tory
CeeLo is 5’7?
Thought he was like 5’1 lmao
Did I say he wasn't I said specifically other male rappers not general critcism.
If you got something to rant about just rant about it you didn't need my post to cape cause your response doesn't even address my post.
other male rappers have lost endorsements and politicians (especially black Republicans) always calling for boycott
Religious movements like the nation of islam also interferes heavily infront of and behind the scenes to correct rappers about toxic s*** ....
Fun fact, beastie boys (all white hip hop group signed to def jam records in the 80s) introduced a punk feel to hip hop and with it came mysogynistic lyrics.... (rock music had been on that wave)
whilst ll cool j was making songs like
rapping about loving and pleasing women
I believe the rapper too short then started calling a b**** a biiiitch and the Pandora box was opened for other rap scenes to call out bitches and tricks, nonetheless it wasn't accepted fully and always regarded as low. Even women who enjoy that music get faced with criticism for supporting those type of songs.
Don't rewrite history please

Niggas talk about f***ing hoes on the regular and as soon as women do it it becomes an issue. S***s so corny
@DonutHole @Lu_The_Ruler thanks for proving my point by offering up what politcians, black women and the general black community complaining but not other MALE RAPPERS
Hmmm might be true but an asinine point to make since I have no recollection of female rappers speaking out against it either, does that mean women are okay with it?
Does that mean, a female rapper that didn't say anything back then can't say anything today about it...?
Lastly I thought cee lo green was a singer/songwriter/producer artist...

exactly lmao. S***is enjoyable for both men and women, we should want women to be as into it as we are

Again you're missing my point when have MALE RAPPERS CALLED OUT OTHER MALE RAPPERS.
The same way Cee Lo is calling out women. Stop bringing up everything but what I'm talking bout.
No one is rewriting history I acknowledge it's facts but it isn't correlating to my point at all.
The sky is blue is facts it has zero to do with my point
Niggas talk about f***ing hoes on the regular and as soon as women do it it becomes an issue. S***s so corny
This thread has adressed both male and female rappers being on some bs....
Also there's a difference between expressing sexuality (which alot of talented female/male rappers do effortlessly) and pushing hypersexuality in mainstream media...

Nelly got heat for it, by men in the industry period
idk if male rappers adressed it but to assume none of them did is stupid
To imply cee lo can't give his opinion on what's he sees today because he may have not expressed his opinion back then is also stupid.
but going up in the thread I see you just wanted to be dismissive and clap back lol I'm not listening to what he's saying because he didn't say anything back then
Ah yes, because we have cee lo entire history of opinions on music industry trends from the year 2000 to 2020 right......
I'll stop replying, have a good one
two things that sell well in America,
S***and Violence.
Aren't those, two major impulses that drive live or something somebody call a freudien psychoanalyst
Niggas rather criticize cardi, meg and nicki for the millionth time instead of promoting people like rapsody

You're reaching and tryna downplay my point as tho you didn't purposely get off track and talk about a bunch of useless s***.
Even worse you tryna make it seem like I asked for cee lee lo complete history but given how many links you posted ITT and historical facts I'm surprised you don't.
Maybe if you spent more time arguing the actual points and responding to what's said and not what you wish was said you coulda found the info.
I think it's best you do aswell cause you haven't given me anything to respond to

True but ultimately this talk of sexual expression etc is just changing every day of the week with multiple different viewpoints /opinions.
I don't really care what those three do to market their music. But it's interesting to take a look at the listeners of the music and see were their morals are.
I remember it being hard for me to find and listen to explicit material when I was a kid, cause mainly, in order to listen to explicit music, you'd have to buy the CD from the store but I was a kid at the time and can't... fast forward to now and we have access to music in its most explicit for from various places, Youtube obviously being the biggest one, and people are raising children that have a better and quicker understanding of tech than our parents.
theres no denying that were in an era of sensory overload due to the internet and people forget this when discussing topics like this.
