Regionalism and tradition deaf as hell

CFBā€™s just gonna be a lower budget NFL in like a decade Auburn vs like Duke, Oklahoma State vs Arizona State as ā€œconferenceā€ games. Yuck

    new tradition though.

It really sucks, money killing what made CFB great

College football had always been about tradition, school pride, rivalries and upsets.

While national titles and big bowl games were definitely always interesting and fun it wasnā€™t what the core of the sport was about.

    new tradition though.

Oklahoma/Kentucky, UCLA/Rutgers arenā€™t establishing tradition if CFB lasted 200 years bro. Hell the teams the SEC added 10 years ago have hardly played their cross divisional opponents. Weā€™ve played Missouri twice in that span and one was in a conference championship

Itā€™s just bad for the sport man

  • CFB has been a regional sport since the beginning of time, killing the roots of the sport and trying to create something entirely different seems like a pretty unnecessary risk

    yikes

P12 was doomed to fail financially since being unable to land OU/Texas. B12 and ACC find a way to at least survive in this new landscape. P12 was mid pack with the flashiest 2010s program that was being backed by Nike plus the occasional USC, Stanford and misc contributions

With how smelly BDS is, I doubt the Iron Bowl is that high this year, but PSU ratings should rise with the Jordan Hare stimulus

I would not be surprised to see some schools get dropped by them forming a brand new conference. I.E. Vandy, Illinois, etc.

We both know USC and UCLA werenā€™t added for Rutgers or NW. They were added for Michigan, MSU, PSU, and Ohio. Annual traditional Rose Bowl matchup.

Just bc you have two good programs doesn't mean you have actual tradition bro lol. Alabama and Texas are going to produce matchups that have tons of ratings every year. Will never have history outside of one big fanbase telling the other you're pompous, you suck, etc.

I'd take USC-Oregon over USC and Ohio State every day of the week
