Well, one that’s been almost 30 years what you’re describing and B. it’s not like you had 2 teams locked in to play every year in the Rose Bowl. USC and OSU are not perfect strangers, but 24 total matchups isn’t a ton man. And that’s the most common permutation. 10 against Michigan and Iowa, 13 against Illinois.

it’s also not USC’s fault to care, but there’s some Pac 12 teams that have their profile raised with playing them. Stanford being one that comes to mind off rip, but many of the lower rung schools in that conference also

Having less actors in the sports world isn’t good for anybody. Esp when you consider that some of those poor Pac football programs are stellar in other sports (Oregon State for example) and might be completely washed out one day soon.
