Another thing that really bothers me is that it seems like so many of these girls have this forced hyper sexualized image even if their actual music is pretty tame. As ktts resident freak I can confidently say that Sabrina Carpenter is the biggest “fake freak” alive and can almost guarantee she’s being told to act like this by a label exec.

This has always been problem but it feels like nowadays with social media there’s this hyper fixation about every detail of these peoples bodies and even the slightest change in the artists appearance can contribute to damaging their reputation. Ice Spice is a good example of this, her music didn’t get any better or worse but because she started to hit the gym all of a sudden she’s getting genuine hate (doesn’t help that she fell out with Nicki’s schizo ass and people pretended to care about her drama with a old friend) and even before all that she was getting harassed at shows when she’d be dancing.

Male artists in particular can go on Racist Kick Streamer #252’s platform laughing it up and barely get any pushback but let some rnb singer call someone who’s been cyberbullying them fat and they’ll wanna behead them.

Initially I think a lot of it was because she’s loosely connected to Kendrick since she’s on TDE, but after the beef reached its climax the hate wave was still there and a lot of it was clearly based on her being a darkskinned black woman which made her a easy target for these types (this adin ross clip is a perfect example)

People tie your worth to your looks to an extent, they are ALWAYS commenting on it, and you still have to sell it to an extent, and when your going through PR issues, if your not good looking i cant imagine how it would impact your mental health.
Because of this also you have to maintain a look so much, and rejecting that brings you a weird level of vitriol and people hate it.

Crazy allegations, people undermining your character and effort nonstop.
