Chance admitted that mental health and wellness weren't things that were commonly talked about in his home while growing up.
"There's probably a ton of situations where people you know, we just wrote them off as crazy, or like they was tweakin' but they were actually going through a chronic mental health disorder," he said. "I feel like this is something that we're all, as a mainstream, we're starting to be like, 'OK, yeah health is beyond just our physical.'"
Chance added that he has "a lot of dark days" and revealed that watching his peers get murdered in front of him has caused severe mental issues. "Obviously I deal with PTSD, I saw my friend killed in front of me when I was 19 and I've seen people I didn't know get killed too. You become kind of numb to it, like somebody else died last week but it stays with you, you know what I mean? And you don't realize until later — like I have lasting effects."
If you’re too far gone into your mental health disorder crazy is exactly wht you are … Everybody has crazy in them what matters is, do others suffer because you can’t help projecting it?
"I still can feel it, I know that the world is evil, in case you thought a nigga forgot it
When my homie was bleeding out, another homie went in his pockets
Please do not run up on me, not even as fans
Niggas get fanned, down on the Dan
Ryan I'm flying, I'm scary as hell, I need me a Xan"
Chance battled addiction for a long time due to the s*** he saw as a young person, and it really affects Chicago artists because the beefs go deep, you can get killed even after making it out the hood.
Yeah this has been clear thats part of why he went overly happy/ perfect image. Mans truly battling things. If you from Chicago you know more about Chance than the average person and it makes more sense. Glad he found love and got married cause she truly helped him stay grounded
"My big homie died young, just turned older than him
I seen it happen, I seen it happen, I see it always
He still be screaming, I see his demons in empty hallways
I trip to make the fall shorter
Fall quarter was just a tall order
And I'm hungry, I'm just not that thirsty
As of late, all my verses seem not so verse-y"
The amount of chicago artist that die every single year as well as friends of artist is so unparalleled. They have to just keep going. I feel so bad for Saba with loss of Squeak Pivot and all of pivot gang. That sense of loss and grief is continuous in the city of "what no really I was just with them" then they gone not from d*** overdose or car accident but from cycles of hate. That eats away at people. Which is why so many artist are actually moving out of city

I know Chance believes in Jesus and I know he'll be delivered from what he's being oppressed by.

Nah that Kanye yelling at him one was funny
Cause sometimes it helps to laugh because the internet did go OD on him for the big day when the coloring book was what it was and acid rap was his opus.
Like what did the internet even want from Chance the Rappers trajectory? Vic Mensa gave them another side. Saba gave many of them what they expected from chance. Taylor Bennett bars. But I truly don't know what they expected or why they felt so cheated like they had heavily invested in his career
There was definitely a point where he constantly wanted to be in news cycle, independent and win the Grammy he now has but where does his career go next? I dont really care he does a lot for the city and is happy. He got to deal with those dark days and that PTSD
Kanye really yelled at this man like he was going to take him off Ultra Light Beam years later that s*** was hilarious

You are weird yo.
Chance was there like "these tweets and maga hat I dont know bro seems a little off"
Kanye "SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC BIG DAY OUT WAS TRASH"
Falling off after you’ve been super lit and popping is probably one of the most Trumatic things that could possibly happen to you
Clout is a d*** and it’s withdrawals are severe
You are weird yo.
Nigga I personally know Chance and his team.... They chill people. Sometimes dark humor is easier than just being like "lets discuss another mans ptsd and death of his friend" when many of you haven't seen triggers, someone die or any of those horrors. It is 2:30am on a saturday.
You expect a nuanced discourse on PTSD and everything that comes with it or for everyone to be like "wow I forgive him for the big day cant wait to see what he drops next"
