Cudi had a couple mediocre projects, but to this day, his only really terrible project is SBTH. And even then, it still has 4-5 really good songs buried in a pile of garbage.
His response to it was 100% his fault. Instead of taking the harsh criticism and trying to better himself, he went on Twitter and said we were trying to get him to kill himself. Maybe a couple people were, but most of us were just really tired of his arrogance and it's apparent he did something wrong, considering he had to cancel an entire tour due to extremely low ticket sales. Even when people were "hating" on him before, he was still able to sell out arenas.
Literally my point. Y’all still rock with Cudi because of who he is and cus y’all like him, while Chance didn’t get the BOTD cus y’all already hated him even before Big Day.
Big Day got better reception than SB2H so if that was “another level of trash” , why try and downplay SB2H like you couldn’t also pick 4-5 good songs off Big Day too? Not to mention like you said, he put out other mediocre albums while Chance didn’t.

I would argue Big Day only got better reviews from the goodwill left over from Chance’s earlier projects; he was a media darling from ~2015 to 2019. That s*** was nearly unlistenable though and IMO is absolutely worse than SBTH
