his main critique towards the weeknd back then was the vocals & lyrical content
all of those were resolved on this album so in all honesty he’s probably going to love it like the majority
he didn't like HOB because of the "character"
then had the nerve to give EOS the highest rating out of the whole trilogy
I think Fantano will do this album injustice...Personally, I can't find any flaws with this album, but I'm sure he'll come up with some s***

because echoes was sonically a better tape besides the “bad boy using women” aesthetic which trilogy stans are still clinging onto
you got your personal take, so does he & the rest of us

"Lyrically, what can I say, it's nothing ground breaking, but he is a great songwriter nonetheless. He's a womanizer and not a womanizer all in the same sentence. Especially in Echoes of Silence, he never puts women on a pedestal. He almost looks down on them, and this isn't a new sentiment, but as an R&B artist this is really out there. D**** and his homies are first and ladies are the root of problems. He's so blunt without coming off completely asinine. It just makes his music that much deeper, all while women still absolutely love it. He's the anti-woman womanizer." - RYM

it's really a matter of opinion, personally I love the tripped out production on Thursday, with HOB being a close second
He said that the mixing/mastering on Trilogy was a major improvement over the OG mixtapes, specifically HoB. If you listen to the mixtape version, the production is really really thin and it kinda prevents the songs from hitting as hard(especially the transition from HoB to GTG).
I respectfully disagree, I prefer the original mixtapes over Trilogy because of the „rough“ sound. Also some samples missing on Trilogy.
The not so polished production perfectly fits the mood conveyed in the mixtapes.
did you make this
nah, i took it from here reddit.com/r/TheWeeknd/comments/fmg44u/snowchild_concept_artwork

greatest thing about music are the opinions haha. I have the exact opposite list, with EOS at the top and Thursday at the bottom

Agree.

Idk I lowkey like trilogy more. I feel like the production compliments the projects more and is more engaging. I do miss the samples though lol.
the first seconds of "Escape from LA" sounds like he's trying to ignite his car to escape LA

I still love the mixtapes though don’t get me wrong.
That’s the moment s*** really kicks in
I still haven't reached the second half of the album
I'm in for a treat
Listen to the Trilogy version. It is soooooo much more satisfying.
Ill try I guess but Im very attached to the OG mixtape tbh
Samples on what You need and coming down

Gotchu man, at this point we‘re talking about small nuances it’s really down to personal preference and I feel like for me it’s also because I just heard the mixtapes first.
Coming back to the original topic of Fantano though, to me it makes no sense that he disliked HOB and liked EOS. Both are lyrically and sonically so similar that it is really contradicting and i feel like he sometimes does this on purpose to generate buzz.
