That isn't even the point. Serena stated that the nurses didn't listen to her regarding her pain nor her request. That just acknowledges and validates the research about black people being disproportionately under-treated for pain.

I don’t know if most white people are “racist” on an individual level necessarily. I don’t think there’s ill-intent on behalf of most of them, it’s just the baked in system that permeates through much of this country, resulting in a sort of muscle memory-reflex that results in tone deaf/problematic responses and actions.
It isn’t necessarily inherent, especially now given the diverse nature of this country. There’s the rural communities, which operate as white bubbles, but eventually urbanization should take care of that.
Of course there’s always outliers and such on the periphery, but for the most part the general populace tends to be fairly malleable, it can be bent the other way.
I think it’s sort of similar to people’s hatred or general distain for things like socialism and communism, even though in actuality they’re probably in support of both systems’ ideals to at least some degree, but this country does everything within its power to tarnish them while promoting capitalism.
There’s not a lot of personal conclusions or epiphanies made here. There IS a lot of propaganda and systematic biases though, and almost everything, especially in our education system, is constructed for us to be more susceptible to the latter so we can never obtain the former.
