brat is going down along with b****es brew, mista thug isolation, and true blue, as a masterpiece of a sub genre.
i agree with users that people who have a vendetta against it's success need to chill out and find a hobby to invest their energy into instead of hatred and superficial criticism because a hardworking artist is getting her just deserved flowers.

True blue? What subgenre is that?
Happy for her success. But the last funny thing on SNL was when Betty white was on. Shows been washed for a long time.
was that before or after dave chappelle

Dance-Pop & Synthpop
Maybe this is exaggerating, but True Blue feels like the ultimate blueprint for all the subsequent mainstream pop albums in the sense it mastered having a tracklist that is wrapped enough in a sound (in this case, dance-pop and synthpop with some classical twists) while still having a cool range of ideas and influences that goes from a dance banger with a controversial theme, an artsy ballad, an atmospheric latin-tinged jam and something as playful and campy as Jimmy Jimmy. Never too much out-of-place and never redundant.
It's "pop-perfection" in the album scale.
True Blue really changed her image. The 50s style influence, and transitioning her to be viewed more seriously as an artist for casual consumers.
Live To Tell is one of her deepest and most artful songs - a fair balance against the party songs. It was her best selling original album. Patrick Leonard does an excellent job as a producer too, along with Madonna's other great projects that would follow TB.
brat @op
Talk to me in French
Talk to me in Spanish
Talk to me in your own made-up language
Doesn't matter if I understand it
Talk right in my ear
Tell me your secrets and fears
Once you talk to me, I'll talk to you
And say, "Hey, let's get out of here
Shall we go back to my place?"
This was a fantastic album.
