    Still my fav song.

I’ve realized this too, a lot of artists seems to shift more towards “an image” or “gimmick” opposed to actually making enjoyable organic music

And what’s worse is now people think chart positions determine whether or not they’re here to stay which clearly isn’t the case

How many artists have we seen free fall from the charts ?

Only real music is gonna last, all that other bullshit, is here today and gone tomorrow

  • Niggamortis

Tbh I think the idea of "experimenting" and trying to be more "versatile" for them just meant making a quick tiktok-type track in the middle of what already felt like one song of an album, which only highlighted just how simple (but good in some cases) her formula is -- instead of actually trying new things altogether with the project like new production and style throughout. So it may have been producers/A&Rs.

Whatever the reason, these numbers are just not lining up with expectation.

Second week might be a huge yikes.

Maybe I’m lost here but why is 100k on a debut album considered an L?

I think it’s because of the massive lush she was getting all year

I don’t think it’s bad but I don’t think she knocked it out of the park

if you remove all names and context and put it like that then yeah you can warp it to not sound too bad lol

but we are talking about someone with 2 #1's this year, a massively increased fanbase, a part of multiple of the biggest stories and discussions in music this year and all ayes on her.....had Beyonce hop on your record too. she didn't exactly do as expected at all. Never seemed to meet her expectations thus far either

doesn't seem like the base she's built translated to consistent listeners

KTT2 is known for terrible takes

She sold more than double her last project and is predicted to have a top 10 hit

    It's a W

Post Malone sold 58k on his debut, with the 8th most streamed album of all time, so 103k for Meg is good I guess

Post Malone didn't have anywhere CLOSE to the looks Meg had before her debut.

103k is like okay at most.

This girl been on 2 #1 hits, been co-signed by the entire industry, been in the news all year, been on every award show, Saturday Night Live, Late Night shows, and has had like 7 hits at this point.

I don’t think her label “faked” any numbers they simply went up because Body kept going viral and so the album ended up outperforming the earlier numbers.

It's okay if the Billboard numbers crack 100K or are higher. Let's hope this isn't another Lil Uzi situation where the Billboard numbers are 10-15K less.

Makes sense. But I guess I still cant completely knock it as an L due to it being a debut

Difference was Post wasn't big with his debut. Meg is almost at Post popularity but selling 100k?
