using a computer to accelerate your racism is of course bad but I think racism is the problem and not AI in this scenario

and if Drake had hired a very accurate Tupac impersonator I think it changes things but has the same effect

I think the moral quandaries with AI are valid statements on societal problems but are about problems that existed before AI and would exist without it

A better educated and just society ...doesn't create these problems in the first place

using a computer to accelerate your racism is of course bad but I think racism is the problem and not AI in this scenario

This is like saying “guns aren’t the problem, senseless violence is” when a mass shooting happens

The reason for using the tool and the tool being the easiest way to act upon those feelings are not mutually exclusive

No in fact its nothing like that at all

The original purpose of a gun is to kill or maim, the original purpose of AI or a computer is not to be racist or do racism

and secondly comparing a school shooting where children are slaughtered to a hypothetical situation where a dumbass white kid does racism online is crazy, words are powerful but racist people can learn and become rehabilitated, you can't learn when you're dead

generative ai models are trained on stolen art work this has been proven so many times

so there's a threat for great artists, a robot s***ting out art work in seconds based on work they spent years of their lives on, stolen entirely based on the high quality of their work, if they pivot to a new style, the robot steals it again, now what ?

    exactly

The newest addition to this has been twitter (we don't call it that name) is training their image generation AI on artwork & images that artists are uploading to their accounts

There is no positive application of an AI trained to replicate real people’s voices or create art. It is inherently nasty and dangerous to give people that kind of power with the click of a button

    Lots of goal post moving

If you have a catalogue of your own voice and your own art and you put it into an AI whatever to spit out something, it might be boring and contrived but there’s nothing wrong with it

The “dangerous” (bit of an exaggeration) imo only comes when it’s about “stealing” something which is an inherently capitalistic problem, cause sampling and frankly “stealing” is not something I think is inherently wrong in art it’s the fact that it’s done by rich to subjugate poor that’s a problem

I’m not interested in defending AI I just don’t give it as much respect or credit as it is getting

Championing AI in the name of creativity will be what leads to the death of art. Stop this s*** now.

nah. this song has been positively received by all my friends and family and when I reveal it’s me as AI their mind is equally blown and confused

“Sampling” someone is not using their voice to generate sentences and phrases that they never said.

AI and sampling are two completely different things

I had a post typed up about how they'd compare this to sampling & other progressions in music tech, but i had to make my post gym meal and I lost the post

Again not a problem created by AI, it might sound more realistic but people are misquoted, impersonated, and have context removed from what they say all the time, propaganda is a thing…

Media literacy is already a foreign concept to most, these things we’re supposed to fear with AI have already been used to subjugate people, I think AI is for talentless hacks and creates slop so giving it this much credit and power is pointless

I don’t think it’s so powerful it can accelerate degradation of society any faster than people can, and I know for certain it will never have the ability to move me the way human emotion can

Misquoting and removing context is human error

    Impersonations are for comedic effect

Again, these things have absolutely nothing to do with someone going to an AI generator and typing “make me a Justin Bieber diss track against Bruno Mars and put Lady Gaga’s vocals on the hook”

It’s dangerous when the technology is advancing so rapidly that it’s becoming harder and harder to spot the difference and point out what’s real and what isn’t

There’s an entire debate if Playboi Carti is actually even on one of the biggest songs in the country right now

    cheap ass AI b-roll footage

  • the difference between making a video without vs with AI is time. AI makes it way faster to create your ideas. ideally youd just use it for creating a rough draft but if it looks good enough why not stick with it

people have no idea how much of a pain in the ass it is to make a really dope music video. takes months if not longer. and thats with a team of professionals. you still need to edit and perhaps do transitions/vfx with AI footage so its not like those people are all losing their jobs

  • Yall aren’t taking ai drones you are talking about ai of a music video like you planned on watching it or bought his album ( you didn’t)
