Picked these up a few months ago and finally have time to sit and read and I’m loving it so far. Who’s all read them?

A lot of Harry Potter and Avatar the Last Airbender vibes all throughout (considering that the author is a huge fan of both). Feel like it’s scratched the itch I’ve had for another fantasy series similar to those like Harry Potter and Hunger Games, but with black/African characters and lore.

Rick Famuyiwa is directing the film adaptation too, so I can see it being a huge hit if done right.

I've read the first book about a year ago currently about half way through the second. Very good books I am enjoying the sequel and am excited to see the film adaptation!
