Yes people only pretend to think Drake is boring because he’s successful and not because he went from making projects that were universally loved like SFG, TC, IYRTITL (during which he was also…successful? No pun intended) to CLB

    lol

You clearly misunderstood the point being made. I'm saying it's only cared about with Drake because of his untouched level of success. For what it is worth, when Drake is still repetitive/not growing, he is one of the most unique and versatile rappers. How many other rappers capable of doing God's Plan, Nice for What (Bounce record), MIA (Latin collab), No Guidance (complete R&B), etc within a year span. All completely different sounds and styles even at his 'lowest' artistically.

You have rappers like Youngboy NBA, 21 Savage, and Future who can make 6 same albums consecutively and never at any point in their career show true evolution yet not get called out on any real serious level lmao.

It wouldn't have been a huge criticism with Gambino.

Pretty sure you just think it’s random because you want surface level music that you can understand on first listen like Drake

My favorite mainstream album this year is Billie's

That artsy s*** can be done right

Nah he's just a better actor/director than musician. Ain't nothing wrong with that. And Atlanta is fire. Not sure why saying that makes me a hater lol

Yeah because they came in the game talking about typical street s***

When you come in with a unique style because you can’t/don’t talk about street s*** fr (Kanye, Drake, Gambino, Andre/Lupe to an extent…) people hold you to a higher standard lol

Drake just regressed into a mob boss version of the street rappers lol

50 came into the game talking typical street s***, and his music not changing/evolving as Hip-Hop's sound changed to autotune/etc is the main reason people said his career stalled.

As I said, when you are the top rapper is only when ppl care about that s***.

If you a B-tier rapper or not running s*** you can make the same music for 10 years straight and nobody says anything.

  • Oct 24, 2021

    I respect it

It’s just that the ppl I usually see with that take would say that and then hate in the next sentence, but use their love for Atlanta to soften it
