the word empathy originates from the greek words em = lean towards and pathos = passion

and passion is used to describe a repeated sin you're obsessed with and cant break free from

that's why we call the passion of Christ the passion of the non-passionate

sympathy on the other hand means being part of the passion....

that's why I wanted to seperate these two....and I'm bringin up greek cause the scripture was originally written in greek and hebrew and the ''idolaters'' Paul mentions are the greeks of that time. (along with the israelites of judaism)

    simple yes or no question.

    simple yes or no question.

What do you make of what I just said?

or do you want me to feed it to you?

    plot twist: yes

I brushed it off when you said ''yes or no please'' but I will not be driven to answer however you feel comfortable....if you have an issue re-evaluate your life

but I will entertain you. Mary wont empathize with us but since sympathy = being part of the passion Her sympathy knows more and has more understanding than any form of empathy can

We already have Christ. you dishonor Christ if you say anybody has more sympathy than him.

i did not say that but u prolly assumed that's the limit of Christ

Im sayin If Mary's sympathy is infinite than God's sympathy is beyond infinite

    who's dishonoring who?

Where in the bible are you getting all this?

All of it. Every single page

see, we dont single out passages that comfort us like protestants and JWs do.....We read em one by one and memorize em but we read chapters not single quotes

it's a shame to have only a slice of pie

This is not just me....that's the entire Orthodox Church with people that reached Heaven, saw Christ and Mary and angels before their eyes

but once again, I'll entertain you....where's your Holy Communion? Christ clearly (as you like, in quotes) says ''Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.''

You need Christ to go to the Father but you need Mary to go to Christ

    Mary isnt some woman

She's the higher being and authority after The Holy Trinity

Damn, it's hella crazy you say this because someone came to my door today and asked if I wanted to hear about the word of God and "the Mother"

Granted, I said no because normally I do like to engage with people of faith in genera (I'm a Muslim and wanted to peep what y'all were talking about), though I was preoccupied to really talk, kinda wish I did

Hmm, I've been looking for a good place to start reading "previous" (in terms of, Christian/Jewish scriptures), any good place in the bible to start?

I've always wanted to read it fully since I was like, 11 but Genesis kinda goes over my head and I didn't want to approach that in particular just yet since I have the gist of it, if that makes sense, though if you think I am wrong about that in particular, feel free to correct me :)

The entire bible is about Christ.

The Bible is just a travel guide on How men and women can reach their destined state of adam pre-fall which is what Christ came to restore

Christ was doing the work the Father gave Him in communion with the Holy Spirit

I dont believe in God cause the Bible exists....I believe in the Bible cause God exists and I know from experience and not intellectually that He is my Father, that Jesus is a kind Lord and that wherever the Holy Spirit resides life flowers

Start with the Old Testament, at the very beginning

you have to understand tho, it's not a book you read a couple of times like any book and ''now it's okay you know everything''

It's a book you study, and will probably read multiple times over and over and over again and still find things that surprise you each time

God had a plan for each and every single one of us in mind before even creating the world

Dont try to conquer God, if you're humble and willing He'll take the 99 steps out of the 100 required, you just have to take one.

It's that simple. Read 1 page every 3 days, try to pray even if you have to force yourself and find a spiritual guide. (a priest)

I dunno about others I'm orthodox christian

there's no guidelines or nitpicking, only truth and lies

and in my faith there's no faith if it's only an idea. You have to be part of the church, confess your sins regularly, and drink and eat the blood and flesh of Christ

and of course we praise Mary, our Saints and pray for our resting brothers and sisters

our faith is something you live. Some Christians say ''just accept Christ'' but where's the life in that??

I feel that. So are you saying that there are both truth and lies in the bible ? Trying to get clarity from your perspective.

Faith to me is all about the relationship with Jesus & the Father. There's so much life in that.
