Personally I do not follow the pope. The plot to me is the word, so ill leave this for a catholic

    this is the word bro

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sermon_on_the_Mount

jesus is god, this is what god clearly said

the gospels are the main part of the bible lmao 😂

also, the pope is a Christian lol

    he even modernized the beatitudes
    1. Blessed are those who remain faithful while enduring evils inflicted on them by others and forgive them from their heart (turning the other cheek)
    2. Blessed are those who look into the eyes of the abandoned and marginalized and show them their closeness (the importance of social welfare and forfeiting material pleasures for the sake of others)
    3. Blessed are those who see God in every person and strive to make others also discover Him (treat others the way you would want to be treated, do not kill)
    4. Blessed are those who protect and care for our common home (earth)
    5. Blessed are those who renounce their own comfort in order to help others (selflessness)
    6. Blessed are those who pray and work for full communion between Christians. (peacemaking and peace seeking across a broad spectrum of ethnic and cultural groups)

this is quite clearly a doctrine vouching for communities based on the principles of equality, solidarity, kindness, social welfare, forgiveness< and nonviolence.

discuss God and Jesus with your friends. attend church, but know that it is pointless in some sense. its too anti-intellectual. no real thinking takes place. too watered down. Christ would have wanted you to think for yourself for he himself was a great and curious thinker. Christ was a young man going toe-to-toe with the religious literati/intellectual elite of his time. he didn't even flinch once!!!!

I've had the most fruitful discussions with Christians who are long gone sadly

    books:

The Gospel in Brief by Leo Tolstoy
The Kingdom of God Is Within You by Leo Tolstoy
No man Is An Island by Thomas Merton
Ghandi on Nonviolence by Thomas Merton
The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker
The words of Martin Luther King, Jr selected by Coretta Scott King

Like I said bro what the pope says doesnt matter to me. I understand your argument I just think you should continue it with a Catholic bc Francis’ beatitudes fall on deaf ears with me

“For Tolstoy there is no higher spiritual perfection, in the sense of achieving Christian virtues, than simplicity, humility, purity of the heart, chastity, prayer, repentance, faith, hope, love in the Christian sense; Christian heroism he does not recognise; over the holiness of saints he laughs, he adores himself, he worships himself, as an idol, as a superman. ‘I and none other than me,’ Tolstoy dreams, ‘you are all mistaken, I have discovered the truth and teach all people the truth!’ The Gospel according to Tolstoy is a fiction and a fairy tale. This is the lion roaring, seeking someone to devour. And how many he has absorbed through his flattering pages!” - St. John of Kronstadt

This dude is a lap dog of the church his words are wholly irrelevant and his words have not aged well at all 😂

The proof is that no one cares who this bozo is today

Tolstoy freed his serfs, wrote War And Peace, and donated all his wealth there is absolutely no comparison

Tolstoy said follow Christ while the paulines say obey Roman law and Roman institutions. No thanks

Its very clear who is in the right and who is in the wrong

how do churches not talk about climate change, universal health care, and workers rights? 😂😂😂 yall are done bruh 😂😂😂

Every time I hear about climate change its always doomerism about how we're already screwed and nothing can be done to stop it. Canada is literally euthanizing its citizens, do you consider that as part of universal healthcare? The Church is majority pro life, do you think it should be more involved in politics?

Any suggestions on a good Bible reading plan to really absorb all that is said in there?

Also, any suggestions on a prayer/Saint to pray to in terms of figuring out your life and getting rid of distractions?

Once I read the gospels, what should you move onto next? Do you have a plan on what to read next?
