Yeah this was crazy. Overall movie, the set pieces and concept were top tier. Visuals were some of the best aswell. Idk how they filmed some of this.
Thought the movie moved a bit too fast and some of the words were so hard to hear (went to an imax showing) which were some downfalls imo.
Definitely need to watch again
lmao could not hear 80% of the dialogue, but everything else was great but man for a film that’s somewhat ‘confusing’ not being able to hear the dialogue really ruins the experience

why couldn’t you hear it?
why couldn’t you hear it?
Lots of Nolan’s films annoy people with their sound/dialogue mixing, with it being hard to hear at some points
And the sound mixer of his movies actually confirmed in an AMA that it’s Nolan’s personal input, he wants his movies to sound like ‘punk music’, in the sense that a lot of sounds will come at the listener at once/ rush the senses, and engage them more.
I think it’s a bit dumb because if you miss a line you’re taken out of it by thinking ‘damn, I missed that’
I’ve honestly never noticed but I’m sure in tenet I’ll notice because I’m hyper aware of many many people saying the words are hard to hear
I’ve definitely struggled with dialogue in his movies on theatrical watch especially with Bane in TDKR, or Interstellar or Hardy in Dunkirk
But I don’t really think it’s a flaw of the movie because you can’t hear some dialogue. Especially when the mixes tend to be normalized once you watch it at home. Instead just appreciate the insane audiovisual mix that makes the theater watch so hype and immersive
Anyone else feel underwhelmed? Hope this hits more on rewatch but my initial feelings are disappointment

Damn thats nolans ‘make it on some dark s***’
explains the trav collab
I keep thinking about this... need to see it again. Not even to unravel the story or anything like that, just to experience it all again.
