Man this was joyless. Why did the main guy have to be a non-character? Why isn't anyone else a character either?

I wish they didn't overcomplicate the story and focused more on at least 2 or 3 people in the story. They should've gone along with that sentence "Don't try to understand it, feel it" instead of explaining so much but so little.

Inception did it so much better, left you with a feeling of wanting to understand the logistics instead of just leaving you tired and slightly confused.

excellent shots, action sequences, sets, etc. enjoyed the core story but the 'emotional' stuff was not done well imo. andrei never came across as truly antagonistic to me and the few scenes where he lashes out against kat (on the yacht and in the hangar) felt almost out of place and over the top to me. Apart from that I thought the dialogue was kinda weak - almost every conversation felt like it HAD to have a clever/edgy quip or line and go at breakneck pace, made it really hard to internalize the impact of what was being said.

as a spectacle though, really enjoyed it.
