This movie has a production budget north of $200M, they‘ll never get the money back if they do release this as planned when theatres can only operate with limited capacity.

  • just watched the prologue again and id honestly risk my life for this movie no cap

Yup there’s no way any sane studio executive would release this in July. Hollywood is an extremely small circle of people which means if your friends are pushing their films back, it’d be financially wise to do so too.

The only way they’d make money is the fact that it’s an open summer slot for them. Moving it back to winter may force competition but it’s Nolan so I doubt that matters.

It matters because WB gambled like 200million+ on this

idc how long I have to wait, I'm not watching this joint on my f***ing iMac.

I'm coming to the theaters, mask on, no snacks, and hand sanitizer on deck.

    1) it's not a gamble, it's christopher nolan

    2) the only gamble is releasing this during a height of a global pandemic and in the best case scenario, right after it dies down meaning theaters will still be at limited capacity and the general public will be somewhat skeptical

Yh they’re better off pushing it back until next summer. People won’t fill up theaters like they used for a while after the peak of the pandemic has passed.
