P sure there’s no way any theater near me is gonna be open by the time this drops
same
Do we know when the replacement date is gonna be IF it gets postponed? Movies that can be as big as this don’t just get slapped anywhere, probably next summer right?

Maybe they’ll just wait until theaters can open back up and drop it then?

If they still want to keep to this year, they could jump into October now that Venom has been moved- there’s no real competition.
Next year will be stacked, especially the Summer.

I think it’s too much of an investment for the studio man, way too much money went into it to throw it in when theatres first open and we don’t know if people are gonna wanna go

True but a lot of the bigger movies that are slated for next summer have had production halts, and the ones that are done or nearly done OR can be done at home are some of the smaller (to scale) ones. So I really think it will be put there

Makes sense. F***

Yeah i hope Nolan keeps in the date, his gamble pays off and July is the perfect time for going back to the cinemas and this movie goes down in history for being the first film we all went back to see, but idk

Thing is I can see this still make a profit because he would have p much every auditorium to himself so even if first week turnout is low, the hope is for word of mouth to carry over as well as a longer theatrical run since we won’t see many movies in theaters initially and that could hypothetically get Tenet to make a profit
But the biggest issue is simply that there is no way most theaters in USA open up by July
“Chris really would like to be coming out with the film that opens theatres,” Gelfond said, adding: “I don’t know anyone in America who is pushing harder than Chris Nolan to have the theatres open and to have his movie released in July when it’s scheduled for.
Nolan's getting s*** for this but he's scared (like the rest of us) that if theatres don't open soon, they won't open again. Certain large scale organizations like AMC and Regal are already on the brink of bankruptcy.
idc how long I have to wait, I'm not watching this joint on my f***ing iMac.
I'm coming to the theaters, mask on, no snacks, and hand sanitizer on deck.
Idk man, i watch a lot of stuff on my Mac with a mask on and with hand sanitizer
