Time travel means that time is reversed and you occupy a different point in time. Time augmentation means that time continues to move forward but surroundings are augmented and changed.

IE. a government uses time augmentation tech to reverse a battle they lose, but time continues to move forward and the people that are reversed still remember their memories prior.

Imagine a TARDIS vs. a click remote. Everyone's been saying this has to do with time travel, but all the footage seems to imply there's no "traveling" (which Pattinson confirms).

If I reverse time for everyone in my city and the people in my city remember what happened before I reversed time, the rest of the nation is still going forward at the normal rate. Time literally hasn't been changed and is still going forward. Our perceptions of time have been augmented. We haven't traveled anywhere new.

Time hasn't changed. The surroundings have changed. The sun still sets and the rest of the world keeps spinning. The actions/movements of objects in the city have been reversed. That's not physically affecting time.

If I crash a car at 4:30pm and reverse the crashed car 30 minutes later, but time keeps going forward for literally everywhere else, I haven't traveled the car through time lol. The car is still existing at 5pm. The car itself's condition is just the same as it was at 4:30pm. These aren't difficult concepts to grasp.

There are some crazy reddit theories, but people have been guessing stuff with thermodynamics/entropy/augmentation since the movie's been filming. That's way cooler than time travel anyway.
