I feel like y’all are giving Nolan too much credit

Dune already has a whole tv show following it

Looks like a great vehicle for some classic Nolan set pieces.

Nolan wants it to stay in place but WB aren’t sure,

If it stays in place, they have to start rolling out the expensive and extensive marketing campaign very soon so it’s a bit of a tense situation.

The budget is a lot already before the big marketing budget so if they do have it for the set date, it has to be a sure deal that it does well

Original ideas of this magnitude are rare. And to be as consistent as he’s been. Like we don’t see a director get $250M for his own ideas often

Dune has a universe following yeah but there’s already a whole universe to draw inspiration from with a 6 book series and prior movie adaptation lol

My point in Dune being more important is that if this movie is a hit it's going to bring more movies to the table with even more potential.

i feel like some of these are coming regardless tho. Like Dennis never has a smash numbers hit but still gets what he wants. There's still gonna be a 2nd Dune movie to complete the story and the HBO Max series.

like i get being more hype for Dune but idk...you get adaptations all the time but not really thaat many things with the potential and sure hit of Tenet. Like this film if scheduled right could jump start theatres and no one even knows what its really about yet

“What did your assistant say?”

“She’s a lot cleverer than I am. Like, she went to college and stuff. And I’m just like saying all this stuff, and I was like, ‘Oh God, no. I can’t even bullshit my way through this.’ ”

For a minute he tries, though. “This thing, it’s so insane,” he says. He says they had a crew of around 500 people, and 250 of them would all fly together, just hopping planes to different countries. “And in each country there’s, like, an enormous set-piece scene, which is like the climax of a normal movie. In every single country.” He says otherwise jaded and hard-bitten crew members would come in on their days off to watch Nolan’s special effects because they were so crazy. He apologizes for not being able to say more. He just doesn’t really know what to say.

A few days later I call Christopher Nolan himself, to ask if Pattinson was f***ing with me about not knowing the plot of the movie he had just finished.

“The interesting thing with Rob is, he’s slightly f***ing with you,” Nolan says, laughing a reserved English laugh. “But he’s also being disarmingly honest. It’s sort of both things at once. When you see the film, you’ll understand. Rob’s read on the script was extremely acute. But he also understood the ambiguities of the film and the possibilities that spin off in the mind around the story. And so both things are true. Yes, he’s f***ing with you, because he had a complete grasp of the script. aint no guarantee Dune gets a 2nd movie lol. If the show and the movie flop, they may discontinue it

Don't think Dennis would be so loud about it if relied that much on box office numbers. The fact the show is gonna start filming before the movie comes out tells me everything i need to know about the security he has here

things that relied on box office wouldn't get confirmation until after we see the numbers..but the series is happening and the sequel is already in development

not even a Nolan stan tho loll. There's just clear importance in this big of an original film that can potentially bring back theatres in big capacity over another sci-fi adaptation.

don't see the exaggeration cus we don't see these big of original ideas often and Tenet is likely to be one of the first if not the first major movie back....The basis for your opinion were in things that were happening regardless.....we are at least for sure getting a series and sequel

Every Denis movie been a flop so far and this is the biggest budget he's ever gotten

WB is going to do every single thing possible to market Dune in hopes of getting their investment back on it
