Article is misleading. DiscussingFilm took it out of context.
They have no sources about it, they're just reusing previous rumors from in between films he did. He's been rumored to make the Prisoner for years.

If they had sources confirming this, they'd say so. It's Variety lmao.

The article just says "some people think it'll be The Prisoner, others think it'll be a new script. We'll have to wait and see!"

I think it's A. highly unlikely that he'd remake another movie/TV show, B. highly unlikely he'd remake something that already has a semi-popular TV show remake made in 2009.

People just bring up this rumor (along with that one book adaptation script he made) every time he goes between films.

He's in the unique space to make something wholly original or adapt something that hasn't been put to screen, and I think he knows that.
