Aight, first off, I’m really happy to see this movie become a success. There are many reasons for that, but especially bc it’s a f*** you to all those grifting right-wing idiots who prayed on its downfall. Yeah, there are people of color in it. Deal with it, and f*** you.
As for the movie itself, it was pretty good, but short of amazing. I found myself craving more when it came to the visuals. I get that this is how Nolan’s films typically look, and that a lot of people enjoy it, but I kind of wish he would experiment with a wider color pallette.
Some of the editing also threw me off, especially when it kept cutting between characters during conversations. It’s not something I usually notice, but for some reason, I did here. I also found myself wishing Nolan would cast lesser-known actors in some of these roles (I couldn’t see Charlize as anyone other than Charlize).
Still, it’s a movie worth seeing, with a great ost, good performances, and some rlly memorable scenes. I know people like to talk about the Cyclops scene (and for good reason) but to me, the Circe scene was the most surprising. It was legitimately disturbing, and I’d never seen Nolan pull off anything like that before, which was great.
One thing he fails at sometimes is over casting
You can make a great film without having every single blockbuster nigga on there, although they played their roles very well. I’m not a big tom holland fan but I surprisingly liked them in this movie.
ngl Nolan lost aura with this. It didn't feel epic to me. Movie was just....loud. And I like loudness when its done.....like Dennis. Hard to explain. Also, just wasn't feeling how the story was tackled here.
Just finished the 70mm imax showing, simply amazing. Seeing it in full picture will definitely be a memorable moment for me, I hope I can see dune 3 on the same screen too. Just a fantastic viewing experience from beginning to end, the audio was better in this one than my first watch in a liemax but my only real critique is that the vocal clarity could've been improved a bit for a few moments but nothing major. I wish it was longer lol. The gate opening sequence and his monologue as a beggar are the key highlights for me. I'll pick up a physical copy when it's out later.
Said I was going to just watch the first 10 mins of the leak and ended up watching the whole thing again
did the exact same thing. i can’t believe how clear this s*** is a week out
Nolan is at his peak right now.
How is it possible to make Oppenheimer and Odyssey back to back
I had to work 2 12 hour shifts and I fit a 3 AM IMAX 70 mm screening right between the two right before the final action scene screen burns itself, and I suddenly wake up to f***ing peak
Seeing today in imax 70mm

Few thoughts:
Definitely top 5 Nolan but not top 2 or 1 for me

I was super close man, I'm out here in Denver and was bout to risk it for real. They had re added the 70mm though and I was able to grab.
Finally getting my first watch of this Tuesday and ready to see if it really is gonna live up to the hype. Expecting good things.
