After thinking about it for a few days I'm feeling like this was lower middle tier Nolan. Not touching Interstellar, Tenet, Dark Knight, Oppy or Batman Begins even.

However I do usually appreciate a second watch more for him so it might shake out differently later.

people f***ing love this movie, but idk nolan is just really hit and miss for me

I am ready for my 70mm IMAX watch. Its an enjoyable movie for its time with flaws. That helped see parts of Nolan we dont see in all his films. While also refining some of his previous elements.

I dont rate things with numbers personally. I said I think its a movie where your first watch and that crowd experience blind ( as someone who read it in highschool 20 years ago and hasnt read it since) was a good time. Its not the greatest movie of all time. Its not perfect nor is it trying to be but its a good communal movie about the downfall of a society and it potentially rising again

comparing to all his movies and nostalgia and review scores has never been for me. Its part of why I dont really gravitate to letterboxd
