I get that to some degree but If I need a number to remember what I thought of a movie that to me says what I thought of the movie. You can ask me any movie right now over the past 25 years what I thought about it or if it drew an emotional reaction and how I would be able to tell you. Would I be able to tell you exactly how the movie went or what have you ? not always most of the time yes. If a movie is so forgettable I need a number to know what I thought then to me it wasnt worth it

I dont really value ranking or hiearchy of films as much year to year. Awards. I just know what movies evoked an emotion and which didnt. Where exactly they fall of best to worst and those debates are same as which albums , games or whatever were the best debates with a crowd. when all were creations of their time. I can tell you what I liked or disliked about them but placing them in a specific order or walking out of a spider man , nolan film or horror film and saying 'this best one yet" not my focus because I think some of those people really get lost in the sauce

I'm definitely lost in the sauce but I'm having fun with it extreme film history deep dive has been fascinating

Obviously profoundly stupid since Himesh and Leguizimo clearly have far more to do here than just simply be aids to Odysseus but I don’t think this take is racist, even if it’s wrong and annoying since many of the characters in this film serve small purposes to the overall narrative like Samantha Morton or Benny Safdie.
