Yes... because No Way Home started out much higher. You can't realistically expect a movie to maintain that high level of box office going into its 10th week
62% drop this week for Spidey btw
Meanwhile odyssey still holding at high 40s % wise in drop
This is how the odyssey wins and they’re probably gonna do 70mm imax runs through December the way the demand is going. The movie is tracking at Barbie tier legs and it’s gonna do better than that movie thanks to IMAX

Are you saying this will out gross Spider-Man ?

A 50-60% second weekend drop is extremely normal, especially for a film that grossed $900M opening weekend
This is how the Odyssey wins what? You do realize that Brand New Day is tracking to finish an entire billion over Odyssey right?

But that's a normal drop

I think he's saying better than Barbie
Are you saying this will out gross Spider-Man ?
I’m saying it will out leg spider man. It’s obviously not out grossing it but by September, nobody is caring to see Spider man that much while the odyssey will still be a big draw in theaters
But that's a normal drop
For a superhero movie
Dropping 45-52% weekly is some top gun maverick level type s***
Once you see people genuinely arguing box office numbers you gotta remind yourself these people watch movies cuz they don’t watch sports so they’re injecting competition or fandom where it doesn’t belong

Box office doesn’t affect how I feel about a movie personally, but it absolutely has an impact on cinema as an institution. If movies don’t make money, then movies don’t get made and theaters don’t stay open

Spiderman and Oddesey were both successful as Spiderman and Nolan always are…. What’s the point of arguing other than trying to qualify one over the other

I don’t really know, I’m not the one that started the conversation
Both movies are massive successes

As someone who watches sports, this was one of the biggest failed snipes I’ve ever seen
Really fun movie but something about it felt off
maybe because I watched it at 11pm
Finally caught this and it was great. I remember people were scared Nolan wouldn’t go fantastical. As always in my first watch of a Nolan movie the various timelines took me a while to keep up with but once it gets to that climax
On my first two shows I completely overlooked the „river of fire meets the river of ice“ visual in the background when they arrive in the underworld.
