the costumes look boring/bland but I don’t really care, more interested in how the story comes together
In general too, he’s a massive Ridley stan. Pretty sure he’s cited Blade runner as one of his favorite movies ever
Nolan did a whole BBC podcast this year on the Adlund Five. Dude's a fanboy; it rocks
Them opening the gate in the prologue was the first moment of hype I’ve had for this movie. Everything else has been underwhelming so far… but that moment was pretty intense for me.
Had to watch the camrip of the prologue and that’s already the best thing I’ve seen all decade

Feeling like the 00’s

Crazy to me there’s people not f***ing with that. I don’t think we’ve seen something this incredible maybe ever

From what I can tell, the vast majority of people are loving the prologue and it's a very vocal minority getting hung up on the type of helmet someone is wearing

They was hating on that helmet in the poster but when that mf pops out in the prologue, that s*** looked like one of the hardest things I ever seen
I’m not understanding the big deal about the helmet, It looks fine
Why are people so pressed about how realistic and accurate it is? Does this movie not have fantasy elements?
“Yeah that scene where they fight the 20ft tall cyclops was cool but the helmets are historically inaccurate”

The helmet f***in rips
I'll say it would have been pretty sick if they went with more period correct costume design (of course the Homeric poems were fiction but there's evidence of a great war that really happened between the Mycenaeans and Troy)
One thing worth noting is that the chronological difference between the Mycenaean period and the period of Greek history where they'd be wearing Corinthian helmets is nearly 1,000 years. It'd be like a movie about the Mongol empire where they're strapped with AR15s instead of bows and arrows

On the other hand, Classical Greek depictions of the Homeric Epics and the Trojan war oftentimes used their own contemporary armor and costume rather than historically accurate costume. Caring about historical accuracy in artistic depictions of history wasn't really a thing until relatively recently tbh.

No one would relate the historically accurate armor to the general idea of "Ancient Greece" though, so it makes sense why they'd go for a more Classical look for the costume.
It's Nolan, it's gonna be a good movie and that trailer was hard AF. The costume they went with looks cool regardless
Saw this trailer during avatar
Hard as bricks
is there crazy artifacting for anyone else on this upload?
