You can pretty much do everything that comes with being a catholic without having to be catholic except for eat the bread

But usually you gotta ask the priest for a confessional, sometimes they have big sessions before Christmas or Easter though

Do I have to call in advance or stop by, meet him first in person?

Trust me the priests are judging you too. I know kids that grew up to be priests in the Catholic school I went to, priests come over to my family's houses, and I know these kids hearts they are definitely not the most accepting of people deep down I know a kid who is a priest now who called my older sister a s*** in the 9th grade
