I've heard a ton of stories of them going to parents and telling them their confessions they're terrified to tell their parents. Being gay is a big one, they view that as a big issue so they go tell to "fix them"

Just a curious question. What if someone tells a Catholic priest that they seriously harmed or even murdered someone? Will the priest tell the police or is it like the whole lawyer thing?

I’m pretty sure you do actually need to be Catholic for an official confession because it’s a sacrament in the Catholic Church. You could probably still set up a meeting/counseling session type of thing though
