The story of Yeezus. A monster awakens, goes through a dark tunnel, and finds Hope through love at the end. Along the way, battling addiction to sex, liquor, wealth, fame…. The album has a clear narrative arc, climaxing at Blood On The Leaves.

Songs being linked thematically does make a complete story in my opinion tho. A lot of stories are essentially metaphors that express how a person is feeling. Pet Sounds perfectly brings us into Brian Wilson’s world and makes us feel what he feels. His alienation, his romance, his emptiness. So, I guess, for me, a “cinematic album that tells a complete story” has to be character-based. It’s speaking to a particular person at a particular point in time.
