He never said any of this though. we can’t just assume this is what it is when it never came out of anyone that worked on the album’s mouth. It’s one of my favorite Ye albums but it’s not a concept album by any means.
Yeezus tour pretty much confirms it as a story of redemption tho

That was probably just for the tour to be fair. A lot of those sections were also blended with older songs too.
Latest one I’ve heard was Dawn FM
Although if I’m in the mood to listen to an album like this my favorite is American Idiot believe it or not

Maybe, but I feel like that story applies to the album too
The sample on On Sight and bound 2 are clear beginning and ending in a narrative. I dont think yeezus is linear story but it definitely has narrative elements

The last part I agree with but I wrestle with that considering that Ye just said he made the album as aggressive as he did cause it was to be a big f*** you to the industry and he was angry with the fashion world too
it tells a story for sure bro
if u don’t get it, u don’t get it
Frfr you gotta feel it

I think it can serve both purpose
Yeezus does a storyline but it's not as straightforward or a connected story like this
It’s not a straightforward story. But it is a character based story.
The story of Yeezus. A monster awakens, goes through a dark tunnel, and finds Hope through love at the end. Along the way, battling addiction to sex, liquor, wealth, fame…. The album has a clear narrative arc, climaxing at Blood On The Leaves.
Ya'll just be typing s***

I’ve always seen it this way lol, it’s just the interpretation I get, it’s hard to think about it any other way haha.

The interpretation falls apart when the album ends and Kanye still believes everything he said on Black Skinhead/I Am a God/New Slaves. Those aren't things he went through on his journey to finding love. Just because the album's cohesive doesn't mean it's telling a story
Every album with the proper mental gymnastics, or the artist does it unconsciously. I like the later more, what comes out tends to be more genuine than when the artist does it intentionally
Oh it is nvm @RVI

Are you under the impression that something has to be learned in order for it to be a story?
Yes, more specifically, it’s an album about the way he feels slighted by the fashion industry. And he does believe that. But he’s also sloppy. He’s a Slave. To sex. D****. To the media image of himself. He is brazen. And it’s helping his career. But it’s also too much. So let’s get too high again.
The ending is powerful cause it’s a victory but it’s only a slight victory. He hasn’t totally changed as a person. But he’s entering a new phase.

That’s what I’m saying. People act like because I say Yeezus is a story, Ye masterminded everything from the start. I think it came out that way mostly unconscious. That’s why music sometimes feels like an act of God.

Exactly, as an artist your only job is being honest with yourself and express your truth, God or whatever will do the rest. New ye understands that very well and that’s why new ye > old ye
