title is bait but look
whoâs to say certain factors make an album a classic? i think this is where a lot of people get things f***ed up. i base classics heavily off of replay value, nostalgia (in some cases), and a few other factors. thatâs only relative to me. another person may base it off of impact on the culture, originality, and sales. some people place time constraints on albums in order for them to be deemed as classic, or rules such as a project cannot have any skippable tracks or else itâs not a classic. i disagree. i think itâs important for people to keep in mind that we typically donât follow the same guidelines when discussing classics
just an example: the general consensus is that MBDTF or 808s is a classic. it wouldnât be to someone born in say 2004 because they'd grow up with a different music experience than the people who believe so. their guidelines of a classic may be entirely different as well.
thots?
I didnât read any of that but they do exist
I think the biggest issue people donât realize is that time is a factor but nostalgia isnât
Classics are timeless albums that have a significant value to the culture. S*** can be cult classic or whatever but s*** thatâs truly a classic has a lot of other things tied into it. Just because you might not like the album doesnât mean it isnât a classic lol
They do. People just throw the word around loosely or donât know what a actual classic is
They do, itâs just yâall donât know what a classic is

Lmao no
You can have an album thats classic to you personally then there are albums that are classical pieces of work that impacted the culture in some way.
50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Trying for example. Thats a classic album, not a personal one.
