oh s*** i had this in my itunes back in the day lol
I did the game tapes and Nas lost tapes 2 and 3 too and the black hippy one
what the thread title change for lol
for traction, because threads with actual effort and thought behind them don't get attention on this cesspool of a site

Yep, sad you’ve gotta put click bait in the title. But then you’ve gotta accept the trolls that usually brings too
I'd rather listen to I Am all the way through than HHID any day of the week
I think HHID was a lot of people on here’s first Nas album so there’s probably nostalgia attached, but as an album it’s bottom tier Nas imo

if you had to where abouts u putting distant relatives

Probably somewhere around untitled. Nas rapping is phenomenal and in a lot of ways he accomplishes what he intended to do with untitled, but I’m not the biggest fan of reggae and most songs are reggae songs with a single rap verse
At this point, he's definitely top 5.
Even his 2 "bad" albums like Nastradamus and Nasir have gems and his rapping is still stellar.
lol at this thread even jay got a stronger catalog
neither of those two are known for having best discography
Kanye still got that one for me because of his diversity and the impact multiple albums had on the soundscape of music but Nas is a close 2nd
Illmatic
It Was Written
Stillmatic
The Lost Tapes
are certified classics
God's Son & Life Is Good are borderline classics
And now he dropped a flawless trilogy with modern production that seems to hit for the younger gen too and also gave us Magic
the GOAT!!!!!!!!!

says someone who’s probably never listened to half his discography and is going by what people have said in the past

Lol sounds like you haven't sit through his discog at all, maybe only skimmed through it
Nas has tons of albums people consider to be classics
He's been in the game for 30 years and just dropped AOTY recently
great write up but it’s between kanye and kendrick for me
pushed the boundaries of the genre, brought it to a wider audience, and their airtight (if you can’t everything after tlop as non canon)

Nas wins for me because he's been doing it much longer and thus blessed us with more classics
I'm not liking the direction Kendrick went with his latest, but he can always bounce back ofc. Nas dropped a few mid projects as well even though i consider him to be the god mc
