If you grew up on him how did you “binge his discog” ?

He’s saying that his discography was the first one he studied when getting into music

And Nas in my top 5 of all time, maybe even top 3 but I feel like he has like maybe 3 definitive classics, a lot of good to great albums and some stinkers

What does ghostface have then wu albums aside?

Ghostface is usually considered the most consistent member of the Wu discography wise.

Ironman up to More Fish is a really good run, then you have 12 Reasons To Die.

Not every GFK album is a classic but they’re all good to great with the exception of the joint he dropped in 2009.
And this is not to s*** on Nas but GFK just never gets his flowers like that

I’m a big fan of GFK, scarface too but they’re a little bit overrated as far as discogs go imo when you count the solo discography only. I feel there name gets automatically brought up and people just accept it sometimes

GFK has 3 classics, Ironman, Supreme Clientele and Fishscale. He has 3 really good albums in Wallets, Tony and more fish, but after that is a little patchy imo and his last couple have been really disappointing. Still an excellent discog but not top 5

Scarface has Diary, Fix and Untouchable (debatable). Then mr scarface is back and last of a dying breed are very good. But again patchy those aside.

Both great artists and when you include group albums their discog is stronger, but they’re far from flawless

i grew up on nas lol he’s not got ‘lots of classics’

Bro you stan a guy who only has 1 classic if we being generous

Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic & Lost Tapes are all considered classics by a lot of people

And then i left out God's Son, Life Is Good and the KD trilogy which are better than most artist's output and were all in talks for the best hiphop albums of the year when they dropped respectively

Thinking of doing this for a few different artists. Criteria: at least 5 albums and at least one classic. Ones I have in mind
    Jay
    Kanye
    Ghostface
    Scarface
    Kendrick
    Wayne

All the albums you named were released one after the other though. Like literally 6 well received albums out the gate.

    Not even Nas did that.

Nas alienated some fans of Illmatic with It Was Written, I Am was seen as inconsistent and Nastradamus was seen as awful.

    Stillmatic was his bounce back.

I never said GFK’s run was flawless but 6 positively received albums BACK to BACK is almost unheard of

Pretty Tony and wallets weren’t without their critics bro and he’s got worse with pretty much every release since. And the I am nastradamus blip was out of his control tbf

"But is it bad? Considering how this was thrown together in a matter of days with Nas recording his verses in a makeshift car studio without ever being in the same room as Kanye there are some great moments. "

    so yeah, it is bad
