In 2018, he said also said that if the world wants to protect the amazon, they better pay us. Also claimed that the indigenous people are behind the destruction of so many areas in the rainforest.
This man accused the firefighters for starting the fire. He’d do anything, but holding himself and his government responsible for the mismanagement of the rainforest.

One problem with your article, it doesn't address the claim that the firefighters sold pictures of the fire to WWF properly. Although to be honest, if that's the evidence the police have, it makes more sense for the firefighters to be spending some time taking images of the fire to sell to the WWF and not actively starting it.
So I guess OP truly is contested. With no evidence, there's not much to say about this issue. It probably was entirely accidental, thanks to Bolsonaro's regime allowing more deforestation, with a lack of foresight on some of the farmer's part.
