The response in this thread shows people are excited regardless and him not releasing an album every year helps, so he doesn't need to change it up but that's a big thing for me
KOD is a risk based on Coles terms
He might not genre blend like HNM or TPAB but nothing in his disco sounds like that album

I'm sure it'll be a good album but it's been long enough now that I feel like J Cole should start taking some more risks with his music, Drake gave us Honestly Nevermind amongst other risks, Kendrick has always taken lots of risks but none more so than on Mr Morale, it's time for Cole too

Every single artist doesn’t need to move the needle and change the paradigm. Sometimes some good raps and a nicely placed beat drop is all you need.

Feb 21, 2024·2 repliesThere was a moment in time where “Love Yourz” had crazy legs and was still playing on radio just a few years ago where I’m at. It was the most impactful “positive” song I’ve witnessed in my life, a positive song that actually connected with regular people and resonated.
But then something happened and it feels like the song got forgotten after Covid, almost like all the negativity of the media finally cancelled that out and erased it from minds. I assume streaming doesn’t recommend that song anymore because they don’t want positive messages out there. Because something happened to take that song down a peg
