This is becoming zoomer's version of Detox
He definitely wants it to be that lmao
He's a great rapper for sure, I don't feel like KOD was a risk in the same way Honestly Nevermind or Aunties Diaries or Mother Sober was though
The response in this thread shows people are excited regardless and him not releasing an album every year helps, so he doesn't need to change it up but that's a big thing for me
KOD is a risk based on Coles terms
He might not genre blend like HNM or TPAB but nothing in his disco sounds like that album
snippet hard
I'm sure it'll be a good album but it's been long enough now that I feel like J Cole should start taking some more risks with his music, Drake gave us Honestly Nevermind amongst other risks, Kendrick has always taken lots of risks but none more so than on Mr Morale, it's time for Cole too
he did that and this site creamed it
So he won't be producing on this. Dropping T-Minus, Metro, and Tay Keith names. Says he doesn't feel comfortable producing anymore. That's kind of sad tbh

I thought the beat in the snippet was weird by cole standards
Is it me or does it feel like J Cole has been teasing the Fall Off for 3 years now
This will be the 8th year
we want bars bro nobody listens to j cole for experimental music
I think this what ppl on this site don’t understand lol
KTT gonna hate to admit it, but this is restoring the feeling.
Every single artist doesn’t need to move the needle and change the paradigm. Sometimes some good raps and a nicely placed beat drop is all you need.

You’re probably right actually, just didn’t feel like there was much on the line or much jeopardy to making it
this is the hardest s*** he's ever made
God damn

Schoolboy Q and J Cole got me feeling like a kid again
Schoolboy Q and J Cole got me feeling like a kid again
I said the same thing about that Q song

I can see that
Honestly not even sure what a more experimental album from Cole would even sound like or what route would even make sense for him at this point
maybe Reggie?
There was a moment in time where “Love Yourz” had crazy legs and was still playing on radio just a few years ago where I’m at. It was the most impactful “positive” song I’ve witnessed in my life, a positive song that actually connected with regular people and resonated.
But then something happened and it feels like the song got forgotten after Covid, almost like all the negativity of the media finally cancelled that out and erased it from minds. I assume streaming doesn’t recommend that song anymore because they don’t want positive messages out there. Because something happened to take that song down a peg
