How the f*** did this project win best rap album of 2016?

Of course its weird to look back at now in retrospect

But CB (and Chance himself) was inescapable in 2016, it lingered for a long time and felt like a huge moment in music

Things would be alot different today if this was marketed as his debut album and not just a mixtape

You talking like Pablo and Views weren’t the biggest albums of 2016.
Also the previous year TPAB won the Grammy when it wasn’t even top 5 biggest albums of the year so your criteria doesn’t make sense.

Great songs on this, but I haven’t listened to it in a minute and a half

The amount of hate this gets on ktt2 is laughable though, TBD really is a black hole on this man’s career

Pretty sure Cole wasn’t nominated cos he dropped too late in the year

Because Views and TLOP were respectively compared to the artists previous albums, I’m not surprised they didn’t win it

Saying that I love both albums

    still solid

saw him in chicago with dj rashad around 2013/4 when man was blowing up miss that era

Good project. It wasn’t Acid Rap level, but it was pretty good.

Pretty good albums that came out that year, but there’s not a clear favorite for AOTY in this post. It’s a matter of preference

Sorry bro but there are like at least 15 better projects than Coloring Book on that list, nobody bumping CB in 2021, not a single song

I bump a few songs from it, just like with the other albums on the list. Plus...

Its def an overhated album. As someone who grew up going to church and constantly hearing that music I wasnt tripping that he was goin in that direction to go mainstream, I thought it was a good balance between gospel inspired s*** and rap. Especially because if you ever been to one of his shows you can tell how influenced he is by kurt franklin. Bro def got lost between CB and big day tho idk what he was thinkin. If he woulda just refined that CB sound he would be golden right now.
