    There is no backlash

    Media created this fake backlash

No one on Earth cares at all

Only ones that might be caring are Islamophobic racists who still stuck in the early 00's views of Saudi and just muslims in general because somehow they are still the enemy to the West

I've thought about this a lot, honestly. I see that Saudi Arabia is trying to put on a better face for the world to see, and I know the people putting this on have done some truly horrific things to innocent people. That said, America is guilty of that too and nobody seems to be too up in arms about foreign artists coming to perform here. Kinda feels spineless to accept that money, but also, we still fw Dennis Rodman right? Even tho he's besties with Kim Jong Un? So idk. Most of these guys have plenty of money and I think agreeing to it considering what the leaked contract says is weasely

    who is we?

No one f***s with Dennis Rodman's crazy ass. Anyway, if the KSA did want to better themselves, they'd properly introspect, not create a "better face" under the guise of ultra-capitalist greed. For example, there's no reason Hajj/Kabba events should cost money, they should abolish the kafala system if they wanted prosperous social change and they would actually create a better version of the Vision 2030 initiative which doesn't include princes wiping their asses with thousand dollar bills, but they won't.

I see people getting mad at athletes and entertainers for taking Saudi money and I'm kinda confused because hardly anybody bats an eye when these athletes, teams, actors, comedians, etc take sponsorships and brand deals with American companies that make dirty money.

I just don't really see all that much difference between taking money from America/American companies and Saudi Arabia. People will say it's because "The Saudi Arabian royal family made their money off of evil s***!" And like...America and Saudi Arabia run on blood money from evil s*** lol

Both have laws that control women's bodies. Both have amassed a lot of money through the slave trade/slavery, infact, both still use slave labor (but in America we don't like to think of it as that so we call it prison labor to feel better about ourselves). Both of their governments are pretty much controlled by the wealthy. Both have religious fanatics that try to use their religion to create and/or justify laws. And I'm sure both hate Black people and the LGBTQ community.

Maybe I'm missing something in all this.

On some level US, Isr34l, Saudi all are intertwined in undeniable ways but i think people make a distinction between making money in your country of residence versus going overseas and lending credibility to other states who've perpetrated cruelty which often is also backed by the US

I guess its the going out of your way and traveling to go do it that makes people consider it different

The comedians aren’t getting cancelled anyways

It’s just people calling certain guys out (like Bill Burr) for accepting censorship of their routines, taking money directly from the PIF, doing the whole propaganda spiel, and then coming back to the US and talking about social issues
