Nah (and i love that standup show in its entirety) that bit was literally respectability politics 101 and Chris himself said he retired that bit immediately because it gave white people way too much leeway to say wild s*** about black people to him that it made him uncomfortable.
In a 2005 60 Minutes interview, Rock said: "By the way, I've never done that joke again, ever, and I probably never will. 'Cos some people that were racist thought they had license to say it, so, I'm done with that routine.
