O yeah I heard about how the uighurs having the time of their lives in those camps it sounds incredible
I mean I was talking about the landlords hypothetically being sent to camp but interestingly enough there are posters here who actually think the uighurs are there to learn stuff
Socialist: “Huh, I’ve never seen anybody support the Chinese government on this site, what are you even talking about?”

People love to pretend like these governments weren’t founded by violent communists.
Revolution is violent, no one is under any assumption otherwise.

Yeah we’re comparing the trajectories of the CCP and USSR and so far (at least) it seems the economic reforms China adopted which were market-based in some instances and the Soviet Union’s reluctance to compromise and use anti-socialist ideas has meant that China is far better off in certain areas. I’m interested to see if this progresses.
Not really, capitalist Norway and Iceland have the majority or at least over 50% of primary energ supply from renewable sources while communist centrally planned North Korea and Cuba still have non renewable energy either at the same levels or lower than the Scandinavian countries. So having a centrally planned economy wouldn’t guarantee an ecologically friendly one, but it would guarantee an economy with lower quality and availability consumer goods
If you think about it there’s really no reason to not just be a social democrat. The free markets success is self evident and we’ve seen corporations be checked for the vast excesses by the welfare state. I mean you could argue that workers are bein “exploited” but not only are wages higher in these countries than in socialist ones, income inequality is actually around the same level (and in some cases lower) than in the Soviet Union, so what’s the point of central planning
The “exploited” in quotations ain’t necessary
Workers are being exploited period
The welfare mechanism of social democracy in 2020 is weakened by every corporation tax dodging to the Caymans. The golden age of social democracy only existed because far leftists put a fire under Europe's ass to the point where capitalists had to make concessions. Once the USSR fell, social democracy died out pretty much instantly and got replaced with neoliberalism with the likes of Blair or Schröder, since nobody was there to pressure the ruling classes. The social democrats discredited themselves and people prefered the conservative neoliberals since they were more honest about what they were doing than the rose-flagged neoliberals talking about solidarity while imposing austerity and dismantling state enterprises and welfare benefits.
Ok dis hard

If they’re being exploited because their wages aren’t high enough, then well run socialist countries haven’t done more than well run free market countries to address this. If they’re being exploited because of how much wealth they don’t have compared to owners and executives then hey, it’s a good thing people like Bernie Sanders exist to introduce reforms in labor that would give workers a much larger proportional share of business stocks relative to any other western country while still maintaining a market economy

Violence is only necessary because those in power won't give up power peacefully
You learnin bout this in school?
Yeah we’re looking at their regimes and how they’ve dealt with changes since Mao/Stalin
