netflix has internships for undergraduates (:
Ah I see. I’ll manifest positive energy for getting that role
well i'm a ux designer so perhaps it's disingenuous to post in here
designers portfolios consist of case studies of problems i've solved, how i've solved them, and my final execution / deliverable i gave (usually a visual piece)
completely different than what a programmers portfolio looks like
Ah ok no worries makes sense

I remember being so depressed looking for jobs and ignoring people telling me it’ll work out
But it really will work out for you in the end

2 1st interviews in the last week so I'm hopin for good things.
But lowkey nervous for the coding interviews, I'll need to practice everything a bit more in the evenings, but working full time and having to commute for 3-4 hours total a day leaves me like not doing much more coding when i get home lol
rn I'm working on a bash script that will read the metadata from songs in my download folder and put them into the according directory in my music/artists folder.

What are some good laptops for school? Will be coding on it as well.

Yeah lmao. And its driving me insane lol,
It works if i have one file in a folder, but at soon as theres more it doesn’t
edit: turns out i was sending a directory with my for loop and calling exiftool recursively, hence why it worked for one file.
Someone said i need to use 'glob' but still having no luck
if u feel like taking a look: stackoverflow.com/questions/70051360/loop-over-songs-accessing-exifdata-sequentially
edit2: got it workin, will post updated version there if u wanna take a look

Basically anything.
Unless you're rendering lots of stuff and need something beefy.
I went through uni with a macbook air and it served the purpose great.
Probably even eaiser now with all the microsoft office apps being available in a browser.
Really just depends on price now, but you could go anywhere from chromebook/ refurburshed-laptop - > new macbook/dell/thinkpad

get something that's 1080p at the very minimum
those 1366x768 laptops are hell

Fr, specced out my laptop but since i was on a budget (there was a crazy sale) i left out the 1080p panel. Terrible terrible mistake

Trust me I know. I've had s*** 720p laptops my whole life.
Now that I have a little disposable income I want to get something I can actually be proud of. Only question is if I want it to have a dedicated GPU or not (already have a good gaming PC).

since you got a gaming PC i wouldn't toss out money on a gaming laptop with a dgpu. APUs came a long way and for their form factor it's crazy even the kind of gaming performance you can get out of them, a lot of cheap devices are using things like vega 8 APUs. i'm not totally sure of specific ones at this point in time though, but just make sure that your machine
and you should be straight with whatever you choose tbh.
if you strictly want something brand new, we're in a weird timeline currently where the m1 macbook is the best value in the market, even at its premium, if you've got money to splurge i'd definitely go with that.
