STEM folk, is a CS degree a dub in 2024?
!https://youtu.be/syqmc4rEvr8Getting my bachelors in may and while I don’t think I’m super qualified to give an answer, I think it depends on your motivation. If you’re already super interested in the field and can teach yourself using online resources then by all means you will save a lot of money. But for me I know I wouldn’t have been able to stick with it for years on end without the accountability that going to a university comes with. If you can pass technical interviews and have unique personal projects that apply to the positions your aiming for then I think you can get by without a degree
Edit: didn’t watch the vid before typing all that up so idk if that’s even what you were asking lol

Also if you are watching “college is a scam” YouTube videos instead of coding or self studying you aren’t getting a tech job anytime soon

What's ironic is I was able to complete the final project, which consisted a creating a video game in pycharm, all on my own. The CS at UVA is terrible but I have to take it again to fulfill my major requirement. I'm just going to pursue a masters in CS.
