you´re right, jay´s ratings were bad, nbc had thought another talk show at 10 was a good idea to save money. but they had a contract with leno so they couldn´t just cancel him. i think he was #1 at 11:35 until conan took over, so it made sense for nbc to put him back in that time slot, it´s not like jay asked for 11:35. sure you can say jay should have left nbc in 2009 but he didn´t and that was the situation they had to deal with. i wished conan had accepted that for a while because i liked the tonight show with him as host.
