why are conservatives so much more susceptible to conspiracy theories

I would guess that it’s because conservatives campaign as the small government party (though they rarely follow through on that). This attracts people who don’t trust government. Conspiracy theorists being people who don’t trust government most. Then conservatives turn to alternate media sources to see view points that match their own, and these alternate sources often embrace conspiracies. So the people they align with, therefore trust to some extent, are claiming something to be true, and they believe it.

Then, Add in the fake news concept. That was influenced by decades of media treating many democrats with kid gloves, causing conservatives to not trust the media. Trump capitalized on that, but didn’t create it. So when the media comes out and says “this isn’t true”, some people just don’t trust or believe them. They would rather listen to the people they agree with, even if the facts are pointing in the other direction.

That’s not to say liberals don’t fall into this (the Russian collusion, believing that Trump was a literal puppet to Putin, thinking he literally hacked votes in 2016, etc). But those conspiracies usually have a basis in reality that gets warped the further to the fringe you go.

This will only get worse, btw.

Tech companies banning people, for example. When we used to go on Twitter, we may have an echo chamber to an extent, but we’d still see opinions we disagree with. You push conservatives off the site, and those people will rally elsewhere to see similar views. This will push conservatives to group together somewhere like Parlor, where the crazy minority now looks like a majority, and their claims will be more believed than before. Likewise, Twitter will become more liberal in the process, having a similar effect for the left.

And we’ll end up with an even more extreme right wing and left wing. Sounds fun.

To be an “Conservative” and still vote for Trump has to be a low point for Americans.

    Synopsis

Not to mention how spineless they are. Its less an ideology and more like a parasite that morphs to fit whatever role it needs to fill in order to "stick it to the liberals!"

How brave were they to oppose trump when he was campaigning but how quick they were to fall in line once he became the nominee and the president. A bunch of spineless cowards who have never stood for anything in their lives except the interests of billionaires.

Same could be said about Harris/Biden relationship now.
