Maybe it supposed to be that sweet, but wonder what would happen if you added like some lemon or lime zest on top of it. It would balance out the sweetness, if it was like too sweet for your taste, or improve it more. Giving it a bit of a tang.

I actually did zest and squeeze in the juice of half a lemon. It’s nice
