I dont hear that at all nor would I see peep or juice making anything even remotely similar to this
They were both moving in a pretty obvious pop punk direction and I dont think this album is anything close to pop or punk.
In a way this feels to me like the complete antithesis of that tbh with the atmospheric production and soft vocals. This album and his music in general doesnt really remind me of anyone besides him. Maybe like bladee or james blake if u really wanna reach but thats about it. Certainly not anyone making fast paced punk music lol
There's def a bit overlap in the sound with this album.
early Peep before he blew up was mainly inspired by Corbin & Bones, I think that's what he's comparing it to, not the pop-punk later direction of his actual albums. If anything a better comparison is probably Kid Laroi, i mean Corbin even featured on the album, and this album really sounds like that feature
This project is wayyyy darker than anything Laroi though
I certainly hear Peep at times, especially in the muddy, drawn out vocals
I think this very much stands as its own thing though
No most def. Didn't mean like it was a heavy bite like Cudi and Travis on MotM 3

Sure, some earlier Peep could be reminiscent but still the vocals and overall sound are far too harsh imo. I wouldnt hate on this opinion though
But Peep was clearly moving away from this sound so I was moreso referring to the comment about them making something like this in the future. I guess we'll never know though
Not even close to Laroi though lmao thats honestly just disrespectful
I mean, he literally did a feature with him in an incredibly similar style with similar production and the MV had the same director and aesthetic, it's not really a half assed comparison. It's obviously not a rip off, it's still Corbin's own style and direction separately, but there's a circular influence there for sure even if just in terms of vocal style.

Yeah it's still his own thing, i was just comparing the vocal style basically.

im sorry bro but someone doing a feature or using the same director in a music video has no bearing on sound at all. I also dont think that song sounds anything at all like this album. Laroi's vocals and production id put in the same category as the others you mentioned which is just the complete opposite of corbin imo
I think I have synesthesia or something but people like juice and laroi and newer peep are fast paced and loud. They make me wanna jump around and s*** while corbin makes me want to sink into the couch

you dont think this song sounds similar to this album, especially Laroi's vocal inflections and the progression throughout the song? Tell Me especially really sounds like Corbin's attempt a pop song. I don't say this in an insulting manner - I like Corbin a lot and his body of work. there's just definitely some contemporary cross-influence here.

Pretty sure corbin is on that dudes writing team.
Idk what yall talkin bout but just wanted to add that anecdote

Honestly bro I dont think it sounds similar at all

That’s fair enough but they do sound similar to me, and as someone mentioned above Corbin (and Bobby Raps) do write for him so it’s really not that weird of a comparison as it sounds at first
his vocals on Rambo make my heart wrench
I know life's getting olddddddd
Feels like getting stuck in the snowwwww
I can make you warm in the coldddddddd
You just need someone there to holddddddd
pretty much the entire first half is just too good but idk why the second half is so forgettable maybe it will grow on me
