How is it permanent when the lungs can fully recover for even heavy smokers if they stop smoking?

Not being an a******. I was genuinely wondering this last night.

The virus attacks the lining in ur lungs. It destroys the individual cells. Its not just coating them with tar.

That lining, acts like a filter which stops us from inhaling bacteria n s***.

Ppl arent dying from the virus itself, from what i understand. Theyre lungs are being thrashed, the bacteria gets in, starts infections and the infections spread.

not to mention the lasting psychological trauma of people not being able to interact with anyone immunocompromised or over the age of 60 for 1 year+ unless you're constantly checked for coronavirus

    africa hardly affected by this

“In the past week, dozens of African nations have shut their borders, grounded planes and closed schools and bars as the case count across the region increased to more than 1,200 people. Rwanda went a step further, banning travel between cities and any “unnecessary movements and visits outside the home” from Sunday.“

....also, Africa still has issues with other disease & viruses. This will be no different though. I have an idea why its slow there though.

there's countries across the world that have hardly been affected, but are shutting borders or even locking down. new zealand have like a few cases. precautionary and wise. compare that to the UK/US absolute joke

No evidence of permanent lung damage as of yet. Lung capacity could be restored with physical exercise, according to the latest reports.

    Got a link?

What i was seeing yesterday, was saying it was permanent damage. (Assuming the lining was GONE in areas)
